ANCO Cameroon
ANCO is a Cameroonian non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable bee farming and nature conservation. We empower local communities to safeguard their environment while enhancing their livelihoods.
ANCO Cameroon has been promoting conservation bee farming and alleviating poverty since 1992. Our mission is to contribute to environmental sustainability and human well-being by attracting more youths and other stakeholders to strategically address issues in agriculture, and the environment.
AOur work covers the Bamenda Highlands in Cameroon. The Bamenda Highlands is a mountainous region located in the country’s North West Region. It is part of the larger Cameroon Volcanic Line and encompasses a range of ecological and cultural landscapes.
Following the passing of its founding father, Paul Mzeka, Founder of ANCO in 2015, the ANCO technical team continued to implement ongoing projects until the end of 2022.
In 2021, significant organizational changes were initiated to ensure the sustainability and growth of ANCO.

Appointment of New Programs Coordinator
In 2021, the ANCO board decided to appoint a new Programs Coordinator to succeed the founding father. Chi Christopher Tamu was chosen to take on this role, bringing fresh leadership and direction to the organization.
Constitutional Review
Concurrently, ANCO began a comprehensive review of its constitution to align with current trends and address global development challenges. This review process aims to modernize ANCO’s governance framework and operational strategies.
Board Leadership Transition
The board Chair, who had been managing ANCO’s affairs, resigned in December 2022 after successfully overseeing the completion of the organization’s last project under the existing framework.
Strategic Rebranding and Revitalization

Representatives of the founding father recognized the necessity of rejuvenating ANCO to meet contemporary demands and challenges. This strategic initiative for 2023 was entrusted to the new Programs Coordinator, Chi Christopher Tamu, with the objective of giving ANCO a new facelift and reinforcing its commitment to development goals.
Context
Giving ANCO a new face-lift was the mission set for 2023. To achieve this mission, reflections and consultations on strategies to take ANCO even higher than its glorious days led to a plan of action that was packaged in what was referred to as ‘’phase I of ANCO rebuilding/revamping process.’’ This phase was launched during a meeting that took place at the ANCO office on 22 October 2023.

MISSION

To contribute in the promotion of environmental sustainability and human wellbeing by attracting more youths and other stakeholders to strategically intervene in agricultural, water, environment, education and health-related issues.
Communications and outreach
-Sensitize and educate on environmental Issues of local and global interests through ANCO Environmental Radio. (ACR)
-Document and report on activities
-Draw lessons from own activities as well
as those of other stakeholders and partners.
-Use of classical and social media outlets
to share and gain knowledge.
