ANCO Cameroon has been promoting conservation bee farming and alleviating poverty since 1992. Our mission is to contribute to environmental sustainability and human well-being by attracting more youths and other stakeholders to strategically address issues in agriculture, and the environment.

WHERE WE WORK
Our work covers the Bamenda Highlands in Cameroon. The Bamenda Highlands is a mountainous region located in the country’s North West Region. It is part of the larger Cameroon Volcanic Line and encompasses a range of ecological and cultural landscapes.

Get to Know ANCO
Learn about ANCO – ANCO, Formerly the NORTH WEST BEE FARMERS’ ASSOCIATION, (NOWEBA) spans over 30 years in bee keeping. We train in beefarming and in quality honey production. We sort and offer support to young entrepreneurs in beefarming. ANCO identifies and partners with quality honey producers to facilitate the marketing of quality honey. With our testing kit, we ensure our farms supply top quality honey with all its nutrients in place, following international standards.
ANCO’s achievements and awards
United Nations, New York, August 2012 – On Feb. 9, 2012, Cameroon’s Paul Nzegha Mzeka, founder of the Apiculture and Nature Conservation Organization (ANCO), was given the Forest Hero award by the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat for promoting sustainable bee-farming as a way of raising awareness about biodiversity, and for helping 30 Cameroonian communities protect their watersheds and preserve community forests.

ANCO is a community and non-profit organization that is dedicated to conservation efforts in Cameroon, particularly in the rural North West Province.
ANCO offers various services and products related to conservation and bee farming including educational programs, beekeeping trainings, honey and other bee products for sale, and consulting services on sustainable beekeeping practices.
ANCO was formed in 1992 as the North West Beefarmers Association (NOWEBA) and was later renamed to Apiculture and Nature Conservation Organization in 2002.
